TOGETHER
Jan Vogt
Software Engineer
Hi Jan, please introduce yourself
I have working at BCT for almost 8 years. I started with a dual study in applied computer science at the DHBW Karlsruhe with BCT as a partner company. After my bachelor's degree, I started as a software developer and have been working in the development department ever since.
What are your tasks at BCT?
I work on our products for the web. At the moment I'm mainly working in the context of BCT CheckIt and the Active Workspace from Siemens. In addition, I take care of the installers and patches/releases together with my colleagues.
How can you help develop products closer to customers?
As a developer, you can't just focus on the technical implementation. You must first understand the problem that the customer wants to solve and then, based on this knowledge, implement the technological solution.
What does "creating value together" mean for you?
As a team, you get to your goal faster and easier π― Whether in a product-specific team or across departments, working together towards a goal creates synergies. π€
A healthy balance in your free time is important. So tell us about your hobbies.
When riding a motorcycle ποΈ I can switch off very well from everyday life and just concentrate on driving. Due to the proximity to the Black Forest, there are also many beautiful routes right on the doorstep.
Another important topic at BCT is further development. Why is this topic so important tou you personally?
Especially as a developer, you have to constantly stay on the ball in order to stay technologically up to date. BCT gives its employees a lot of freedom in this regard. For example, I have already attended various external training courses. But we also regularly exchange information as a team and development department in order to build up and share knowledge. I have particularly enjoyed our CppCon sessions so far. In these sessions, the entire development department get together , watch and discuss presentations from the conference.
What is important to succesfully accompany a company through its transformation?
Engagement. As the best band in the world said, "It's not your fault the world is the way it is. It would only be your fault if she stays like this."
Be a part of BCT.
Take the next step: Become part of our team and develop tomorrow's future with us.
