Ensuring Assembly Integrity Through Validation of Substitutes

Increasingly complex manufacturing processes require distinctive capabilities of foreseeing challenges influencing all parts within an assembly. Partially changing the assembly after its release adds additional complexity and lengthens the time to market. Using substitutes can help cover foreseen challenges of components becoming unavailable during later stages. Nevertheless, it is important to make sure that the substitutes meet the identical criteria as set for the other components.

Working with different suppliers can heavily impact the final assembly. Starting off the release process with a part from one supplier without knowing whether this will be the preferred and available one when producing the final product can lead to loads of change processes. Using substitutes within an assembly is most often the only chance to foresee these challenges, cover these uncertainties and prevent long and costly change processes.

But how to make sure that the substitutes do not remain unnoticed during the release process of the assembly? How to check the substitutes for their integrity?

When checking the whole assembly BCT CheckIt is now able to take also the substitute components into account. Each substitute is now systematically collected and validated for ensuring data quality when predictable changes affect the assembly.

Enhanced Assembly Integrity

Considering replacement components during the validation process contributes to the overall integrity of your assemblies and ensures that you can deliver high quality products at all times and that they meet the highest standards.

Boosting Workflow Efficiency with Reusable Validations

Imagine configuring a set of checks in one validation and effortlessly reusing it in another validation. This not only streamlines your workflow but also minimizes the risk of errors that often accompany manual duplication. Historically it was possible to reuse single checks or sets of checks among different vlidations. Only specific individual checks or predefined sets were available for subsequent validations. Today, however, it is also possible to reuse entire validations, making the creation of new ones even faster and more efficient. This menas that you now have the flexibility within BCT CheckIt to assemble your validations dynamically, enabling seamless reuse of existing validation rules.

Redundant Efforts and Error-Prone Configurations

In digital product development, it often happens that the same validations have to be carried out for different assemblies. Repeatedly configuring and performing these tests not only requires additional effort, but also carries the risk of errors that affect productivity and reliability.

Embracing Reusability for Maximum Efficiency

The new approach is a streamlined solution to reuse an entire validation for other ones by marking them as “reusable”. This makes the entirety of a validation, including all configured checks, transferrable to another validation. It significantly minimizes the effort involved in configuring identical rules across various validations, ensuring consistency and reducing the potential for errors. In essence, this innovation empowers users to seamlessly apply a comprehensive set of checks across different validations, promoting efficiency and accuracy in the validation process.

Say goodbye to redundant efforts and error-prone configurations. Embrace the future of efficient validations with the power of reusable check rules.

Ready to unlock the full potential of your validations? Start utilizing the reusable validations today and experience a seamless, error-free workflow that adapts to your evolving business needs. Streamline your processes, enhance efficiency, and embrace the future of digital validations.

Error Reduction

By avoiding the manual configuration of checks in each validation, you significantly decrease the chances for errors. The reusability not only saves time but also enhances the accuracy of your validations, contributing to a more robust and dependable workflow.

Update BCT Inspector and BCT CheckIt Independently and Boost Flexibility

One of the main significant enhancements in BCT Inspector and BCT CheckIt development is, that the installed versions are now able to differ independently from the versions of other installed BCT products. This newfound flexibility is further underscored by the elimination of the dependency on BCT Teamcenter Server Components, providing administrators with more flexibility, greater control over their configurations and reducing maintenance efforts.

Customers can now enjoy the autonomy to update BCT Inspector and/or BCT CheckIt independently, a feature that contributes to a streamlined and user-friendly experience.

In terms of file organization, all the necessary files for BCT Inspector operations are conveniently consolidated in the installation directory, housed within the new subfolder "\inspector." This simplifies the accessibility and management of essential files.

Use Case

Integrate your Engineering Data into your Quality Control Plans

The availability of technical data for the creation of control and inspection plans is critical to success. However, providing this data is often linked to manual, error-prone processes. Sounds familiar?

Improving product quality, complying with industry standard and making processes more efficient are integral parts in the product lifecycle. This is why it is essential to integrate product development into quality processes right from the start.

Using the BCT Inspector enables an automated extraction of quality characteristics directly from the design – reducing time spent, errors made, and enhancing information quality in downstream consumption. The BCT Inspector data can be used in a wide variety of quality management systems thanks to the use of cross-industry standards. Serving these standards makes it easy to seamlessly bridge the gap between engineering and quality assurance, enabling vast improvements in productivity and product quality. One of the quality management systems which directly incorporates BCT Inspector data is Teamcenter Quality.
