Hi Philip, could you briefly introduce yourself?

Hi, I’m Philip, 27 years old, and I’ve been part of the BCT team as a Junior Software Developer for almost a year now. After completing my degree in Aerospace Engineering, I made a deliberate decision to start a career in software development and joined BCT directly through an exciting job posting.

What are your responsibilities at BCT?

I work in the Product Data and Quality team, where we develop technical software solutions focused on product data and its quality. In practice, this means I code in C++, develop new features, fix bugs, and contribute to the further development of our software products. Alongside coding, I regularly take part in alignment and planning meetings – we work in an agile way and closely collaborate as a team.

Describe your job in three words.

What do you especially like about your job at BCT?

What excites me most is the technical depth of the tasks and the fact that I was entrusted with responsibility early on. I can contribute ideas, work on real products, and continuously learn – that is particularly motivating for me. In addition, the team atmosphere is very collegial, which makes everyday work enjoyable.

What does "creating value together" mean to you?

For me, it means that at BCT we don’t just develop software, but as a team we create solutions that deliver real benefits for our customers. It’s about connecting technical expertise with user requirements – together as a team and with our customers. That’s how genuine, sustainable value is created. 🎯

When we talk about “value”, what stands out to me is this: we don’t develop in isolation. By exchanging ideas with other teams and integrating feedback from customers in practice, we can better understand what is needed – and deliver exactly that.

A healthy balance in your free time is important. So tell us about your hobbies.

I like to stay active 🏃🏼 – whether it’s jogging, cycling, or working out at the gym. It helps me clear my head after an intense day at the computer and stay fit.

How can you contribute to developing products that are closer to the customers’ needs?

As a software developer, I am the final step in implementing solutions and turning features into reality. Through customer feedback and regular planning meetings, I actively contribute to the development process together with my team and the Product Owner, ensuring that our products stay aligned with customer needs.

How did you come across BCT?

I saw the job posting online and was immediately curious, as the company struck me as very down-to-earth and technically focused. The interview confirmed this impression – I felt at ease straight away.

How did you experience the onboarding process?

The onboarding was very well structured. I was gradually introduced to the systems and workflows and had a dedicated contact person in the team right from the start. You’re not left on your own, but receive the support you need to get up to speed quickly.

What advice would you give to potential candidates?
