Hi Daniel. Please introduce yourself.

My name is Daniel, and I work as a PLM Consultant at BCT. My background lies in the toolmaking industry, where I was active in machining, assembly, and sales. After that, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, which ultimately led me to BCT.

How did you became aware of BCT?

I first became aware of BCT while writing my Bachelor’s thesis, where digital transformation played a key role. Through discussions with BCT representatives, it quickly became clear to me that this type of work was a perfect fit.

During my application process, I was invited to spend a day at BCT to gain an insight into the company and to meet the “Team BCT”. The open and forward-thinking corporate culture convinced me to begin my career in software consulting here.

What are your responsibilities at BCT?

As a PLM Consultant, I am responsible both for advising customers and for implementing the resulting projects.

You have been with BCT since October 2022. How did you experience the onboarding process?

From an IT perspective, I consider myself something of a lateral entrant. The onboarding process, particularly in the first few months, is very demanding. At the beginning, there was a great deal of new information to absorb, and processing this input was quite challenging. To sum it up, I would say: “You have to leave your comfort zone to move forward.”

I felt very welcome from the start. The open and supportive way colleagues interact with one another makes integration much easier. Feedback and self-reflection are very important to me, and these are encouraged and supported by regular personal and development discussions

What does “Creating Value Together” mean to you?

With the current state of technology, seamless networking between customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers can be ensured. However, this potential can only be fully realised through ambitious and consistent collaboration among all stakeholders.

Our mission? – To identify precisely these potentials as a service provider, in order to generate added value for all participants along the entire process chain.

What do you particularly enjoy about working at BCT?

I especially enjoy collaborating with customers and our experts. No project is ever the same – you constantly face new situations and, in doing so, gain fresh insights across different areas.

Another important topic at BCT is personal development. Why is this especially important to you?

“You never stop learning!” I enjoy acquiring new knowledge, which allows me to expand and refine my existing expertise across different areas. Personal development is very important to me because with growing responsibility in projects comes the need for personal growth. Through continuous exchanges with my mentor and supervisors, further milestones for both my personal and technical skills can be defined. For this, BCT offers a wide range of external training courses as well as further education directly with Siemens.

What is crucial when supporting a company through its transformation?

For our customers to successfully master digital transformation, it is our responsibility to identify their specific needs and to support them with tailored services and products. In doing so, we always strive for a true partnership based on equality.

As our customers embark on this journey with us, they will experience fundamental changes in their business processes. Throughout this transformation, we stand by them as a reliable and professional partner.
