Case Study
Optimization of processes in Teamcenter
BCT CheckIt to ensure error-free workflow processes in Teamcenter at Bausch+Ströbel SE + Co. KG
Timely manufacturing and procurement must already be considered during design of machinery and equipment
The early release of modules, assemblies and components plays a decisive role
Challenges
- "Time-to-market" is becoming increasingly important as products become shorter-lived
- Productivity increases are indispensable to remain competitive
- Establishment of a process for the validation of new and modified assemblies
Goals
- In the long term, the goal must be to achieve shorter development times by increasing productivity.
- Automatic checks and approvals in Teamcenter with the help of BCT CheckIt to increase productivity
- Introducing recursive assembly release
“BCT CheckIt allows ballast-free and flexible validation of extensive assembly structures for plausibility and completeness of metadata, parts list structures, classifications and change information and creates the prerequisite for smooth further processing in subsequent processes.“

Lessons Learned
- The entry point for the release process at Bausch + Ströbel was the entire machine/main assembly. The check takes place automatically in a workflow, but can also be started by the user
- During validation, the BOM is resolved recursively and validation is applied to each component it contains
- With BCT CheckIt, errors are already detected before the start of the workflow by means of various checks
- BCT CheckIt offers easier operation, better clarity and improved speed for approval workflows
